This fat freehand has a 1" diameter tobacco chamber, 1 1/2" deep. The bowl is 1 7/8" tall, with 1/2" thick walls tapering to 1/16" at the rim. Length is 6 1/8". The block this came from was spalted, or, as we used to call it in Maine, dozy, indicating that the burl was harvested from a dead briar. I have no idea if pipes made from 'dead root briar' have superior smoking qualities or not.
